Reminder: Defense D1 is play …b5 and get a knight to c4.
This is a good example of the defence failing to e4-e5 and a kingside attack. It’s worth noting that black does not have a light square bishop, instead he has 2 knights, both of which don’t get active.
Key Points: Defense D1 doesn’t work when white can play e4 and black can’t respond …dxe4. This is because white will continue e5 with a strong king side attack.
