White then sacrifices a pawn to remove black’s dark square bishop and infiltrate with his queen on the dark squares.

White gets very active pieces:

– Black has to passively defend his backwards c6-pawn
– White’s light square bishop prevents …Rc8
– Black’s knight is offside
